全球最大短租網站Airbnb上周改版推出“Trips”--整合“Homes”（住宿），“Experiences”（體驗），“Places”（攻略），旅客不只可入住當地人家，也可參加當地達人導遊的獨特行程，例如和洛杉磯「古著之王」上古董店挖寶、跟著倫敦美食家逛當地市場。未來，Airbnb還計畫加入訂機票等功能，它的野心是做全球最大的一站式旅遊平台

“Trips will make travel magical again by (a) immersing travelers in communities around the world. Get unprecedented access to local passions and interests, like violin making in Paris or marathon running in Kenya; discover the hidden (1) gems that only locals know about via personal recommendations; and socialize with other travelers and locals at exciting events.”

“The goal is to broaden the range of services Airbnb hosts can offer.” Tech news website The Verge reports, “That way, more travelers think of Airbnb as a destination for finding cool stuff to do in a new city and not just a place to sleep. Meanwhile, Airbnb can court more hosts to its platform that can substitute their knowledge or expertise (2) in place of a room for rent.”

“Cities have fought Airbnb on its contributions to urban (b) gentrification, rising rents, and landlord abuses.” The week before Airbnb launches Trips, “the company’s home city of San Francisco ruled that Airbnb hosts could only put up houses and apartments on the rental marketplace for a maximum of 60 days a year — on top of forcing hosts to register with the city. This is mainly to prevent people from operating multiple listings simultaneously in violation of housing regulations, as well as the abuse of local (c) eviction laws,” Says The Verge.
