Citi announces key hires in APAC to support bank's ambition to grow with clients across Sponsor and Leveraged Finance space
(中央社訊息服務20250805 18:08:23)Growing further with clients across the financial sponsor and leverage finance space are key global strategic priorities for Citi. To support this ambition, Citi announces a couple of hires across its Asia clusters to further support client led growth.
Vikram Chavali joins as Managing Director, Head of Global Asset Managers (GAM) for JANA and Asia South. Vikram joins Citi from Goldman Sachs, where he was Head of Asia ex-Japan Sponsors M&A.
“Vikram will play a key role in supporting our strategic Sponsor clients, and his established relationships will be invaluable as we look to grow our Sponsor business. Vikram brings 20 years of experience in investment banking coverage and capital markets, with a proven track record of deal origination and execution, leadership, client engagement and strategic growth,” said Ashu Khullar, Global head of GAM.“Financial sponsors globally are driving a significant portion of the overall banking wallet and with Citi’s increased global focus on this important asset class, this underlines our ambitions to grow further with clients in Asia,” added Ashu.
Citi also announces the appointment of Deepak Dangayach as Managing Director and Co-Head of Debt Capital Markets for JANA and Asia South. Deepak brings almost 20 years of experience in capital markets, having previously held senior roles at Deutsche Bank and UBS. He was most recently the Head of Sponsor Financing for APAC at Deutsche Bank, and prior to that, led the APAC Leveraged and Debt Capital Markets team at UBS. Deepak also brings a strong background in private and structured credit which will support Citi’s increased focus on private and structured credit globally.
“Deepak is widely respected for his expertise in originating, structuring, and executing complex debt financing transactions across multiple sectors and geographies. I am confident his expertise will be a great asset to Citi as we continue to deliver for our clients,” said Richard Zogheb, Citi’s Global Head of DCM.
The hires underline Citi’s investment in talent to support client led growth in the strategically important areas of sponsors, leveraged finance and private credit. The hires also add to recent global hires across the sponsor and leveraged finance space.
Ludovic Ingelaere from Deutsche in the bank’s European Leveraged Finance team with responsibility for French / Benelux based clients.Ryan Williams as Co-Head of NAM Leveraged Finance Origination and Syndication, joining from BMO Capital Markets. David Cohen-Mintz from Goldman Sachs in the bank’s GAM team in New York.
