In today’s society where the economy continues to develop and the social system gradually matures, the “New Rich Class,” also known as the middle class, has grown in China. Women also play a totally different role than they did in the past. They are no longer men’s accessories; they have respectable jobs with higher income, and at the same time, remain kids at heart. Most importantly, these women are capable of thinking independently and making rational judgments. Today, this type of intellectual women exists in every industry in Shanghai, and they are referred to as the “3H Ladies.” They “enjoy, to an extent, the luxury image of Häagen-Dazs; possess, in a way, Habermas’ German rationality and intelligence; and retain, at some level, the Harry Potter-like imagination which most adults have long lost.” The “3H Ladies” represent materialistic enjoyment, the possession of imagination, and the pursuit of rationality and depth of thoughts.
在社會經濟不斷發展、社會制度趨於成熟的今天,新富階層或稱為中產階級,在中國日漸壯大。女性也扮演著與過往截然不同的角色,她們不再作為男人的依附品,而是有著體面的工作、較高的收入,又不乏未泯的童心;更重要的是擁有獨立思考、理性批判的能力。這類以知性見長的女性散布於各行各業,讓時下的上海有著一群「有那麼一點喜歡哈根達斯的奢華想像,關於哈伯馬斯有那麼一點德國人的理性與智慧,還有那麼一點《哈利波特》中所具有的成年人已經消失的想像力」,此類女性族群被稱之為「三哈女」,代表著既有物質的享受,又富有想像力,還追求理性和思想深度。

The “3H Ladies” are urban women whose roles cover three different yet overlapping styles: Habermas, a world-renowned master of postmodernism; Harry Potter, a magical fantasy character created by J.K Rowling; and Häagen-Dazs, a faux-European American ice cream brand. They are “the latest creation of mix-and-match, a combination of fashion, luxury, and imagination.”
所謂「三哈女」,就是融合了哈伯馬斯、哈利波特、哈根達斯三者不同風格的都市女性,讓一個是享譽全球的後現代主義大師、一個是J.K羅琳筆下古靈精怪的魔幻人物、一個是披著歐陸外衣源自美國的冰淇淋品牌,重疊交映在某些都市女性的角色下,稱作「最新的混搭成果,溢出了時尚,摻和了物質和想像」。
