Industrial Transformation Faces New Challenges;Innovation is a Never-ending Process 產業轉型新挑戰 創新求變 沒有終點
On December 19, the Institute for Information Industry (III) held the “2012 Industry Outlook Summit Forum”. Companies in attendance included Quanta Computer, Delta Electronics, Luxgen, Test Rite Group, PPStream, and various other international market and technology specialists, as well as Columbia University's Steve Feiner, a leading pioneer in augmented reality. The summit covered how Taiwanese companies could prepare their businesses to create more value for their enterprises later on down the road by concentrating on four key future developments in the areas of business, technology, markets, and brands.

Test Rite Group CEO Sophia Tung stated that, from her experience of shifting from a hi-tech industry to a traditional industry, the greatest challenge and difficulty lies in people and culture. The focus of Taiwan's education has always been on testing, thus making it difficult to cultivate creative talent. However, there still remains a lot of potential for the future of Taiwanese industries if organizations and companies can provide a vision and guidance for ingenuity, while simultaneously making mutual considerations and heading towards the right direction.

If the textile industry, Taiwan's strong suit, is integrated with cloud technology, it could be positioned to develop unique health management clothing, which possesses a great deal of potential.
