Creating an environment in which innovative people can thrive

Recently, the world has been changing faster and more dramatically than in the past. In an era when “innovation is king, and there are no paradigms to follow any more,” every individual and every enterprise needs to rethink the question of how they can prepare themselves for the future, how they can instill in themselves the DNA of innovation, and how they can create an environment conducive to innovation, so that both individual employees and the enterprise as a whole can respond rapidly to change and succeed in meeting the constantly changing needs of consumers. They should be thinking about what kind of organizational culture is needed to make full use of “Generation Flux” and enable the members of this generation to display their innovation capabilities to best effect, and in doing so create real benefits for the firm.

The ideas SIG (Streaming Innovation Group) invited young people, entrepreneurs, IT managers at large enterprises, etc. to discuss the ways in which four key factors – people, place, time, and things – can either stimulate or hinder innovation. Through this process of collaborative discussion, it was found that: innovation cannot be found within cement walls, innovation cannot be found in control systems, innovation cannot be found in the nine-to-five routine, and innovation cannot be found in routine matters. Within the organization, “offices,” “managers” and “bosses” were seen as the main obstacles that hinder innovation. To achieve innovation, you need to do away with the framework of constraints imposed by cement walls; to achieve innovation, you need to overcome spatial and temporal constraints.
