3分鐘的時間，可以開啟某件事的興趣及熱情。下次在電梯或茶水間碰到同事，把握以下的小訣竅：
Compliments 讚美他人
先從「稱讚」別人開始，營造舒適及愉悅的對話氛圍，接著順著對方的回答進行下一步的交談。
A：I like your shirt! Where did you get it?
我很喜歡你的襯衫，在哪買的？
B：I got this from SOGO last month.
我上個月在百貨公司買的。
A：Really? Can you tell me the name of store?
真的嗎？那你可以告訴我店名嗎？

與生活連結的話題也是萬年不敗的。如果你是被問的一方卻想繼續進行對話，可以提出Follow-up question，但切記要拿捏好問題分寸。
A：Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?
這個周末有什麼有趣的計劃嗎？
B：I will go to amusement park with my daughter if the weather is good.
若天氣適合的話，我會帶女兒去兒童樂園。
A：Wow, sounds like fun.
哇！聽起來真不錯。
B：Then how about you? Do you have any plans?
那你呢？你有什麼計畫嗎？

我知道有一個地方，它是這一區最棒的滷肉飯店。
A：Thanks a lot. I'll try it later.

B：If you don’t mind , I can go with you. I can also show you around the area.
如果你不介意的話我們可以一起去，我也能順便帶你認識環境。
